A different kind of banking institution
Banca Etica was founded on 8th March 1999 due to a group of people’s desire to create a different kind of bank. Far from traditional concepts of banking institutions, this new model views the bank as a meeting place for individuals requiring more responsible and transparent management of financial resources.
The aim of Banca Etica is therefore to encourage specific socio-economic initiatives, which involve wealth generation and distribution being based on an ethos of solidarity and responsibility towards civil society.
The bank manages the savings of individuals, families, organisations, companies and institutions and invests them in projects with social and economic objectives while respecting human dignity and the environment.
Banca Etica does not attempt to reject the basic rules of finance. Instead, the bank tries to reform the key values upon which the banking world is built.
