- Dates: from Monday June 22nd in the evening to Friday June 25th at 1pm.
- Place: Emmaus Europe’s headquarters – 47, avenue de la Résistance, Montreuil, France
Emmaus was created by people joining together, so the question must be asked, can Emmaus Europe be consolidated by people coming together? Meeting gives us the chance to get to know each other but primarily it is the chance to recognise each other as members of the same solidarity movement that is fighting the root causes of exclusion.
One of the commitments made in 2007 was to coordinate and develop European companion, leader and volunteer exchange programmes. Some links have already been forged by exchanges of trainee leaders, specifically between the UK, France and Spain. However, these are not regular occurrences and remain very specific and relatively limited ventures. Other one-off exchanges are undoubtedly being planned by communities.
Without wishing to coordinate every single initiative and while seeking to leave room for local initiatives linked to the mutual history of individual groups, we want to give these exchanges a helping hand and encourage a discussion process in the first instance between community leaders.
We are inviting you to take part in this two-and-a-half day event to share your practical experiences and your vision of Emmaus.
