Emmaus Europe is continuing its development by helping to consolidate links between the groups.
Following the meetings for leaders and companions, the World Council on Training and New Generations is inviting friends and volunteers from Emmaus groups in Europe to discuss and exchange practices at a work and training seminar in Aland (Finland).
We have high expectations of this event, which will give friends and volunteers the chance to take up their rightful place in Emmaus Europe.
Venue: Emmaus Aland (Finland)
Number of places available: maximum of 20 (plus five local volunteers, seminar leaders and interpreters, making for a total of 30 people).
Registration deadline: 18 April 2011
Arrival date: Thursday 2 June
Departure date: Friday 10 June
Who can register?
Friends and volunteers from European groups, subject to availability.
What about language problems?
The three languages spoken at the seminar will be English, French and Spanish (Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International’s official languages). Interpreting will be provided. Swedish and Finnish will also be used.
What about the cost?
Accommodation, meals and the seminar itself will be provided. The groups will only have to pay travel expenses. Seminar participants will stay at Overnasgarden (www.overnasgarden.ax).
- Enable friends and volunteers from Europe to meet each other, discuss their practices and gain a broader view of the Movement.
- Pinpoint forums for involvement and ways of being actively involved in the Movement.
- Debate issues such as sustainable development, freedom of movement, participation and expression etc.
We will be putting on a mini-display presenting the activity of each of the participants’ groups so that we can get to know each other better. Please bring with you items, photos, etc which are representative of your group.
A big sale organised by the group is planned for 9 June. It will be the chance to bring together friends and volunteers from Emmaus Europe.
Participants will also have the chance to socialise with activities including visits and outings.
