Emmaus Europe has joined Migreurop as part of its focus on working in networks with stakeholders involved in common issues.
This European and African network of activists and researchers endeavours to publicize and combat the widespread detention of foreign nationals and the growing numbers of migrant camps, an approach at the heart of the EU’s policy of ‘outsourcing’ border management. Migreurop was founded in 2002 and brings together over 47 associations and 55 individual members from 17 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Emmaus Europe has been involved in the network’s initiatives since 2013 and became a member in 2016.
