On 15/12/15, the Emmaus players in Europe called upon the European deputies in order to facilitate the movement’s action at European level.
The participants came from 5 different countries (Germany, France, Italy, Romania and United Kingdom) and met in Strasbourg so that Emmaus Europe’s voice can be heard at the European Parliament. They used their experiences to give their testimonies regarding the successes and difficulties that Emmaus groups have to face on a daily basis. They then voiced their concerns regarding the policies on migrations and regarding the future of circular economy, which are key issues in the current European legislative context.
After being shown that Emmaus represents a realistic alternative, the European deputies highlighted the noteworthy work done by the movement in favour of professional inclusion and sustainable development. This meeting therefore represents a new step in the development of the dialogue with European representatives.
