Since its creation, the Emmaus Movement has always been a civil society representative with an unfailing political commitment.
In order to continue with the work that Abbé Pierre and the Movement have taken on for years in order to make politics evolve, Emmaus Europe endeavours to “ lobby public and European political authorities” and “forge alliances with other European organizations that share the same goals in order to work together to fight extreme poverty and the causes of extreme poverty, wherever it occurs and specifically in Europe.”
Emmaus Europe therefore helps to organize events, both within and outside the movement, highlighting its stance on a number of priority issues whether it is at a European level or at a local level in the European countries where the Movement is present.
