This week, our board met in Srebrenica for an intense and emotional meeting!

The visit of the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial left a lasting impression on us and gave us a better understanding of the context in which IFS-Emmaus works. We also visited the center for the eldery, the medical center and the children’s center created by IFS-Emmaus to meet the needs of the local population; this was impressive 👏

After this productive meeting, we left with new projects to guide our solidarity work 🤗

🙏 Many thanks to @mfs_emmaus for their warm welcome. We will all remember this meeting and the solidarity at the heart of your action, at the heart of Emmaus 🕊️

🇧🇦 A new group in Bosnia-Herzegovina?☀️

We visited the great projects of Otaharin @otaharinbijeljina in Bosnia-Herzegovina for the 2 last days!
They are a pro Roma organisation who works with street children and Roma families for social integration and against discrimination.

🍅 🫑 They have a small economic activity growing vegetables and making the best organic Ajvar (a local delicious red pepper sauce) !

They have been a long time partner of our Emmaus group in Bosnia Herzegovina (IFS-Emmaus) and they may join the Emmaus movement as well!

Traceability: a strategic asset for Emmaus initiatives? 📊♻️

Increasingly in Europe, politicians are aiming to introduce a system of extended producer responsibility (EPR) to manage waste and promote reuse in different sectors, such as electronics, textiles and furniture ♻️

In practice, this means that manufacturers of new products will become financially responsible for managing the products at the end of their lifecycle. As a result, our Emmaus groups can get involved and benefit from funding or facilities for our work thanks to the traceability system 🕊

First meeting of the Emmaus national organisations in Europe 🇪🇺🕊️

For the last two days, we have been exchanging with the Chairs, national delegates and chiefs executive of 7 #Emmaus national organisations that could attend our meeting in London 🇬🇧

They shared their challenges to keep up welcoming in dignity all people in need in a changing world 🌍

United we stand and will keep up the good work!

2024 Emmaus summer camps 😎🇪🇺

Do you want to help us to help while taking part in a meaningful experience? Summer camps are for you 😀

Every summer various camp events are organised by the Emmaus groups all across Europe 🌍

Signing up to a summer camp means you are contributing to Emmaus’ work as well as being involved in the day-to-day life of the group. It means you are helping to tackle poverty and all of its causes but the camps are also a moment of sharing and socialising as well as representing an opportunity to live an alternative experience alongside people from various backgrounds and from all across the globe 💪🫂

Summer camps have been at the heart of the Emmaus movement since the 1960s. These gatherings have shaped the movement as it is today and were the starting point for many “vocations” within Emmaus 🕊
