19/11/2024 - 19/11/2024
19 November 2024 3pm-5pm (French time) – online meeting
Nutrition and culinary treats
We have all been in Emmaus communities where the chef says that he/she is stressed before mealtimes because the companions are so demanding… But we also know that portion sizes are important within the Emmaus groups and that eating well is important for each and every one of us. Mealtimes are, furthermore, an important moment for sharing with others within the Emmaus groups.
So, how can we ensure that we eat well within the groups? What does it really mean to eat WELL? Does this vary from one person to the next? What impact does what we eat have on our health, on the planet and on society? What would we like to do better within the groups to ensure that meals are a time of shared pleasure that have a positive impact in many different ways?
We would like to invite you to a meeting to find the answers to these questions all together, with input from representatives of other Emmaus groups from all across Europe. This meeting will be an exchange of best practices and of new ideas amongst staff members, companions, chefs, volunteers and group leaders: it’s time to sit down and share things at the meeting table, not the dinner table (unfortunately)!

This exchange of best practices is open to all stakeholders of the Emmaus movement. There will be interpretation in French and English for this meeting. We have made a poster to invite people to this event, please print it out and put it on display in your groups!
